Ask two questions before booking: 'Is the vacuum HEPA-filtered and outside the living space?' and 'Does the estimate include the air handler?' Hesitation on either is your answer.

The Manchester Exception That Proves the Rule

The city's converted mill-era housing hides one more wrinkle: renovations that used old duct chases as raceways, panned joist bays acting as returns, and cavities open to basements that were coal cellars in a previous life. Those systems pull air from places no filter ever sees.
